SSU Commitment Tracking
Overview
On June 24, 2025, the California State Legislature graciously provided $45 million in one-time, investment funding to Sonoma State University (SSU). This funding is known as the "Sonoma State Commitment" (SSU Commitment). The CSU Chancellor's Office (CO) also provided $10 million of one-time funding for initiatives known as "Bridge to the Future" or BTTF. The main intent of this website is to provide the latest information about this funding and subsequent decision-making. There is also a $25 million line of credit being provided by the CO payable in the next fiscal year at zero-interest; if utilized, a request by SSU to the CO for the use of those funds will be identified below and any relevant documents will also be stored here.
This website is designed to provide the public — both on- and off-campus — ways to track progress of our latest budget and student headcount forecasting, SSU Commitment funding and funds used to support the BTTF, and access to key documents (including documentation to show SSU's request for funds) with respect to campus decisions and planning. This website serves as a repository for funding requests as investments are deployed. Each line item has an associated task force, each of which is generating reports and budgets to deploy this funding; those reports are also available below. Funding allocated to Sonoma State over time for the SSU Commitment will be spent after final decisions on use of funds are made among task forces, SSU leadership, and shared governance processes as charged.
